Jungle Jim's, Delaware: the signage system that became CanvasRelay

Studio Sussex has run the live menu boards at Jungle Jim's water park for years — Raspberry Pis behind TVs, menus that change with the season, prices that change with the day. CanvasRelay is that battle-tested system rebuilt as a product anyone can use. The park's boards are migrating onto CanvasRelay now; the full write-up with venue photos and results lands when the swap completes.

The problem

A water park's food stands live and die by the board: sold-out items, seasonal menus, weather-dependent hours. Printed menus couldn't keep up and the first digital system needed a developer for every change.

The setup

TVs at each stand driven by Raspberry Pis. Menu items and prices in one linked table — a manager changes a price on a phone and every board that shows the item updates within a minute. Offline caching keeps boards playing when the venue Wi-Fi drops.

The operator loop: prices and sold-out flags in one table, published to every screen.

What's next

The park's boards are being imported into CanvasRelay for a 7-day parallel run before the Pis swap over. Venue photos, uptime numbers, and the operator's verdict land here when it's done — we only publish what actually happened.

Your venue could run the same way.
