AI menu photo/PDF import read something wrong or cannot import

AI import creates a reviewable draft, flags low-confidence rows, accepts image/PDF up to 8MB, and has a paste-text fallback.

What you may be seeing

  • Extracted names/prices are wrong, low-confidence, or the AI cannot read the uploaded menu.

What usually causes it

  • Poor image/PDF quality or ambiguous menu formatting.
  • The file is over the 8MB import limit.
  • AI is unavailable/out of credits/validation failed.
  • The model produced uncertain rows that require human review.

Do this

  1. Use a JPG/PNG/WebP image or PDF no larger than 8MB; crop/compress if needed.
  2. Review every extracted section/item before Create menu, especially rows marked low confidence or with a missing price.
  3. Edit incorrect names/prices directly in the review table before accepting.
  4. If AI cannot extract it or AI is unavailable, switch to Paste text. That deterministic fallback does not require the photo model and is designed to land in the same review flow.

You know it is fixed when

  • The review table is correct before acceptance and the created Data menu matches what you approved.
