Urgent announcement/takeover is not showing or will not stop
Takeovers interrupt normal rotation without a publish, can target one board or every board, and can expire or be ended manually.
What you may be seeing
- A message intended to interrupt normal content has not appeared, appears on the wrong scope, or remains active.
What usually causes it
- The takeover targets a different board.
- The screen has not completed its next feed/check-in cycle.
- The takeover is org-wide when the user expected one board, or vice versa.
- The takeover has no automatic expiry and must be ended manually.
Do this
- Open the board's Announcement composer and confirm whether the scope is this board or All boards.
- Check the active/scheduled announcement list and its expiry/start time.
- If it should end now, use End now/Cancel on that announcement.
- If a target screen is offline, fix connectivity; it cannot receive a newly created takeover while disconnected.
You know it is fixed when
- The expected screens show or clear the takeover and then return to normal scene rotation.
Worth knowing
- Current dashboard copy states that active changes normally reach screens within roughly 35 seconds; no Publish is required for the takeover itself.
