Create a board from a template or start blank
Board creation supports built-in visual templates or a blank 16:9/9:16 board; template starts include sample data and blank boards seed an editable starter scene.
What you may be seeing
- A new user is unsure whether to choose a template or blank board, or is surprised by seeded sample content.
- A board needs portrait rather than landscape orientation.
What usually causes it
- Built-in templates intentionally seed a design and sample menu data so price bindings work immediately.
- Blank board creation intentionally seeds one visible editable starter scene instead of a completely black canvas.
- Template aspect ratio comes from the template; blank boards let the user choose 16:9 or 9:16 at creation.
Do this
- Open Boards and choose a built-in template when you want a designed starting point, or use Create a new board → Blank board to start with the starter scene.
- For a blank board, choose 16:9 for normal landscape TVs or 9:16 for portrait displays before creating it.
- Rename/delete the seeded sample data and starter elements as needed; they are ordinary editable content, not permanent system content.
- Publish only when the board is ready to become a player release.
You know it is fixed when
- The new board opens in the editor at the intended aspect ratio and its starter/template content is editable.
