Test a published board on a screen for 5 minutes without pairing it
Boards with a published release can mint a short-lived five-minute test player session for quick fullscreen viewing without creating a persistent screen pairing.
What you may be seeing
- A user wants to see a board fullscreen on a browser/TV before setting up a permanent paired device, or a test link stops after a few minutes.
What usually causes it
- Test sessions are intentionally short-lived five-minute tokens.
- A board must already have a published release before a player test can represent live content.
Do this
- Publish the board at least once.
- On its Boards card, choose Test on a screen (5 min). CanvasRelay opens the player in a new tab using a temporary test token.
- Use that window for fullscreen visual checking; it is not a persistent paired device.
- If the session expires, start a new test session from the Board card rather than trying to reuse the old token.
You know it is fixed when
- The temporary player opens the board fullscreen and a fresh test action works again after the five-minute token expires.
Worth knowing
- A test session does not replace normal Screens → Connect a screen pairing for unattended production playback.
