Set up Android TV or Google TV today

What you may be seeing

• You want Canvas Relay on an Android TV / Google TV device and are looking for the current supported path.
• You expected a Play Store TV app but do not see a public native app yet.

What usually causes it

• Android TV / Google TV is compatible today through the browser player.
• The dedicated native TV shell has not been promoted to a public Play Store release yet.

Do this

1. Open a modern browser on the Android TV / Google TV device or an attached Android TV box and go to player.canvasrelay.app.
2. Leave the player open and note the six-digit pairing code it shows.
3. In Canvas Relay, open Screens → Add screen, use the browser/Android compatibility path, enter the code, name the screen, and assign a board.
4. Publish the board. The player downloads the complete release before switching to it and keeps the last-known-good release for offline playback.
5. For unattended use, test the exact hardware's sleep, browser suspension, startup, and power settings; these vary by manufacturer.

You know it is fixed when

• Screens reports the Android/Google TV endpoint online with the intended board and an active deployment.
• The physical TV continues playing after a browser reload/restart and receives a later published board release.
