Set up Fire TV today

What you may be seeing

• You want to run Canvas Relay on a Fire TV Stick now.
• You are unsure whether the current setup is a native Amazon Appstore app or a browser player.

What usually causes it

• The supported current route is the browser player, commonly through Amazon Silk on Fire OS devices.
• Amazon now has both Fire OS and Vega OS device families, so a future native implementation cannot be represented by one Android APK claim.

Do this

1. On a Fire OS device, install/open Amazon Silk (or another capable browser available on that device) and go to player.canvasrelay.app.
2. Use the six-digit code shown by the player in Screens → Add screen, then name the screen and assign a board.
3. Publish the board and confirm the complete release reaches the device before relying on it unattended.
4. Test the exact Fire TV model for browser suspension, sleep, restart, and power behavior. Reopen the player if the OS closes the browser.
5. If your hardware is a Vega OS model, use only a path that is actually available and tested on that model; do not assume Fire OS APK behavior applies to Vega.

You know it is fixed when

• Screens shows the Fire TV endpoint online, assigned to the intended board, and active on the target release.
• A later publish reaches the TV without re-pairing it.
