CSV import skipped rows, mapped columns wrong, or changed the wrong items

What you may be seeing

• Import preview skips rows, merges duplicates, or the result is not what the spreadsheet author expected.

What usually causes it

• Item-name column is not mapped.
• Header detection/mapping is wrong for the file.
• Rows do not contain usable names/prices.
• Duplicate section+name rows collapse with the last value winning.
• Replace was chosen when Merge was intended.

Do this

1. Choose the CSV and inspect the preview before importing.
2. Confirm whether the first row is a header and map the columns explicitly; an Item name mapping is required.
3. Read the skipped-row/duplicate summary in the preview and fix the source data or mapping if needed.
4. Choose Merge to update matched section+item names while preserving sold-out flags/bindings and creating new items.
5. Choose Replace only when you intentionally want to wipe the existing menu and rebuild it from the import.

You know it is fixed when

• The preview count/mapping matches expectations and the resulting menu contains the expected updated/created items.
