Fire TV / Android TV browser player problems
These platforms currently use a TV browser; app/browser suspension and restart behavior are therefore different from the Pi reference player.
What you may be seeing
- The player worked but the TV device later shows a home screen, browser chrome, or no CanvasRelay tab.
What usually causes it
- The TV OS suspended/closed the browser.
- The browser is not configured for fullscreen/reopen behavior.
- The stick is powered from the TV USB port and reboots when the TV is turned off.
Do this
- Reopen the supported browser and player.canvasrelay.app; pairing should persist if the browser profile/site data survived.
- Enable the browser's fullscreen/kiosk setting.
- For Fire TV, powering the stick from its wall adapter avoids a full stick reboot each time the TV cuts USB power.
- If site data was cleared and a new pairing code appears, pair the device again from Screens.
You know it is fixed when
- The browser returns to the same paired player and the screen reports online/active in Screens.
