Pairing code is rejected, expired, or already used
For browser/Pi/Fire/Android compatibility players, pair using the six digits currently shown on the player. Roku beta uses on-device Canvas Relay account authentication instead.
What you may be seeing
- Screens → Connect a screen rejects the six-digit code.
- The TV replaces its code while you are trying to claim it.
What usually causes it
- Pairing codes expire after 10 minutes.
- The code was already claimed by another request.
- One or more digits were entered from an older code or typed incorrectly.
- The player itself cannot reach CanvasRelay to maintain its pairing session.
Do this
- Look at the TV/player again and use the six digits currently on screen, not a screenshot or older code.
- Open Screens → Connect a screen and enter those six digits. You can optionally name the screen and assign a board during claim.
- If the code changes, enter the new code. Do not keep retrying an expired one.
- If the player says it cannot reach CanvasRelay, fix the player's internet connection first; it will retry and obtain a usable code automatically.
You know it is fixed when
- The dashboard shows the newly connected screen and the player moves from pairing into assignment/download/playback.
Worth knowing
- Roku beta/public-store account setup is not a six-digit off-device pairing flow. Use the Roku on-device sign-in/create/link flow instead.
