Screens in a sync group are not lining up
Sync groups coordinate scene timing from server-corrected clocks and optional per-screen offsets; they are not broadcast genlock.
What you may be seeing
- Screens intended to rotate together change at different moments, or an offset behaves unexpectedly.
What usually causes it
- A device is not in the same group.
- A non-zero sync offset intentionally delays one device.
- A screen is offline/stale and no longer receiving fresh timing state.
- The desired use case requires frame-accurate hardware genlock, which CanvasRelay sync groups do not provide.
Do this
- Open Screens and verify every intended device has the same group key.
- Check each device's sync offset; positive offsets intentionally make that screen run behind the group.
- Confirm the screens are online and playing compatible/current releases.
- For normal signage choreography, tune the offsets. For frame-accurate one-video-across-panels applications, use dedicated video-wall/genlock hardware instead.
You know it is fixed when
- The grouped devices show the expected relative scene timing and configured offsets.
